Good Afternoon Oakwood Elementary Families,
Oakwood Elementary continues to be an amazing place. Today our PAWsome 5th and 6th graders proudly helped celebrate Ms. Schlatter's birthday in the cafeteria with a happy birthday song organized by students. We have such a wonderful community here at Oakwood elementary. Next week we will start our 7 days of Christmas countdown, with dress-up days and fun surprises. December 20 will be the end of the second 9 weeks and grade cards will be going home in January 2023. Thank you all for your warm welcome and support during this first part of the school year. I am so blessed to be the principal here at Oakwood Elementary. I wish you all a healthy and happy holiday season.
October was full of excitement! The students are in full swing with their academics, WOW does Oakwood Elementary have hard workers! We had an alphabet Parade, 4th Grade Canal Field Trip, Fire Safety Day, Third Grade State Testing, Bat Habitats, a PTO meeting, a Board of Education meeting, Grade Cards went home, a SAFE Schools Drill/Evacuation, FFA - OYA, Free Popcorn Friday, SOAR field trip, fact families, picture retakes, Math Masters and the start of our book fair! The mindset for October was 'Passion First'. It was so much fun sharing the things we love we, students. I am looking forward to November's mindset 'We are Connected'. I am thankful everyday for the connected community of students and staff at Oakwood Elementary.

Kindergarten grandparents breakfast (Sept 9) at Oakwood Elementary was a Huge success. They enjoyed breakfast together and played a game of alphabet bingo to go along with their ABC Bootcamp. Thank you to Mrs. Miller and Mrs. Roehrig for organizing such a fun event. Thank you to the many grandparents who came in to share the morning with us.
