Hello from the Principal's Office at Oakwood Elementary!

We have had an outstanding start to the 2019-2020 school year. It has been exciting to see students come back to school with a positive attitude, ready to learn and grow!

We had a few staff changes at Oakwood Elementary this school year.  Mrs. Jamie Roehrig has joined our kindergarten team.  She comes to us from Paulding Elementary and is taking the place of long-time kindergarten teacher, Kelly Snyder, who retired in May 2019.  Mrs. Jodi Carlisle has returned to her position of paraprofessional aide in our cross-categorical unit after an extended leave.  Mrs. Mary McClure is now our paraprofessional aide supporting 1st, 3rd, and 4th grades.  We are happy to have all three ladies join the Oakwood Elementary Teaching Team!

At Oakwood Elementary, we work hard to create a positive learning environment where children grow in academics and in character development.  Ohio's Learning Standards are at the core of our teachers' units, lessons, and assessments.  Along with a strong focus on academic education, we feature a new character trait each month to promote character development.  This hard work in planning and delivering quality academic and life skills instruction was recognized in a big way when Oakwood Elementary was chosen as a 2018 National Blue Ribbon School.  We strive to make a positive impact in the life of each child who enters our school, as we look forward to seeing them become productive citizens in our community.

If you have questions about your child's education, please contact your child's teacher or the school office.  Children always do better when they know everyone is working together to support and care for them.

Sincerely,

Jennifer Manz, Principal
